Reminiscing

Tonight the kids and I were looking through our video clips on the computer. When we came across the folder from "November 2007," I felt a little baby hungry.

This video I love - his curls, her sweet baby voice, the way she mauled him then like she still does now and how he adored her even at only 7 months - I love it all!

Okay, not enough to have another baby, but it took me back to a sweet time in our life.

Smarty Pants Kenyon

Ever since Jeremy and I went to Hawaii last year, Maya is constantly saying that she wants to go to Hawaii. Apparently, Kenyon is listening because this was our conversation at breakfast this morning:

Kenyon: "Kenyon go Hawaii."

Mommy: "You want to go to Hawaii?"

Kenyon: "Kenyon swim with dolphin."

Anyone up for a trip to Hawaii to swim with dolphins? I am so in!

Then just now Maya came and informed me that Kenyon knows how to read now. I walked in the toy room and he was reading one of our favorite books:

As he turned each page, he would say, "Goodnight Moon. Goodnight bears. Goodnight cow," and so on. Then when he was finished he yelled, "The end!"

I love this stage!

Family Night Fun

Last Monday night we met some friends at the splash park for water fun.

Olivia loved running away from the water

And playing with her good friend Kensie!

Kenyon had fun on the whale

While Maya sported her beads

went down the slide

and sprayed other kids.

Fun, fun, fun!

It is HOT!

How did it get so hot so fast???

The kids are loving our pool I got on clearance last year for $2 - worth every penny!

This little girl is getting braver and braver! The first time we pulled it out, she stayed on my lap the entire time. Now she is the one starting the water fights!

Last week we had Destany, Lucas and Keandre over to play. These two were styling each other's hair with water bottles and posing while saying, "Fashion!" Where do they come up with these things?! Meanwhile, Kenyon is marching to the beat of his own drum...

Counting down the days until we head to Utah and Bear Lake to cool off!

Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day I surprised Jeremy with a night away with my girlfriends. How nice am I to leave him alone for 24 hours with all 3 kids?! :)

My trip: complete bliss! Me, two close friends and their little babies in the cool mountain air at a cabin.

Jer's stay at home: As I walked through the door this evening he said something about how he will NEVER quit his job and stay home with the kids. A minute later he mumbled something about taking a nap and still being completely wiped out (it was only 8:30 pm!). Tears actually formed in my eyes!

As I walked up the stairs I noticed this hole in the closet door:

Jeremy is pretty laid back so I couldn't imagine him punching a hole in the door - things must have gotten really bad! Okay, actually, he was holding one toddler and tripped over another while trying to get them in the bath. His elbow went right through the door. Now we have a souvenir from my weekend away!

Thank you Jeremy for being such an amazing father, husband and best friend. I love you!

Dates

I have been trying to take my kiddos out on dates this week. On Monday I took Maya to the library and lunch (sorry no pics!). Today was Kenyon's turn. He wanted to ride a "big train," but settled for a trip to the mall play area.

We picked up his friend Sam on the way

And met up with another friend Victoria there. These 2 are so stinkin' cute together!

I love this kid!

And very soon it will be Olivia's date. I think she will like anything that involves yummy food and lots of love and attention!

Daycare?

Nope - they are all ours! Yesterday Kyle and I ventured out to the free lunch at the school (which I frequent for breakfast and lunch nearly every day!). As we were walking to the cafeteria, all of these kiddos were walking in a long line holding hands. Some teachers were gathered around and commenting on how cute they are. They were shocked to hear that they are all ours. We are quite the spectacle and this picture doesn't even have baby Lucy in it!
Speaking of large numbers of kids - another day this week I had 3 extra kids and I told Jer I was headed to the park. He was very concerned that I would lose a child taking 6 kids, 4 and under, to the park. But alas, all kids safely returned to their homes. So much fun to have so many kids around to play with!

Our Visit from Nana

Nana came to visit last weekend. The kids were in heaven to have Nana around and Mom and Dad even got to slip away to a resort for a night. Win-Win situation for all! Thanks for coming Nana!

Sparkles

A special visitor stopped by our back window this morning. Maya named him Sparkles. Thank you for stopping by and entertaining the children while Mom got stuff done.

Summer Dayz

We are enjoying summertime! Yes, it is hot. Yes, I wish I still had preschool so I could run to Wal-Mart with just 2 kids. But we are making the best of it:

Spending days at Dunkin Donuts

While watching the car wash

Or taking a morning stroll at the preserve to check out the ducks

When I say "morning," I mean we leave the house at 7:00 a.m. so we can beat the heat. I guess there is a bright side to my kids waking up at 6:00 a.m.
