Final Vacation Post

It has taken me forever to get to this post. In the meantime, we (Owen, Maya and I) took another trip to Idaho for my cousin's wedding. I forgot my camera (AHH!) so I am hoping to get some pics from my mom. It was SO nice to take the "calmer" kids and enjoy a weekend away. As for Jeremy, he is appreciating me even more now and wondering why I don't put those crazy boys in daycare everyday!

Back to our final leg of the trip... We met Jer in Vegas and headed to Cali.

Devin is such a Daddy's boy and was very excited to see his Dad after being away for a week and a half.

We went to a park in Irvine and the kids rode horses/ponies.

Devin was nervous at first, but then loved it.

Kenyon did not want to ride a horse.

Then we rode the train.

Owen had his first trip to the beach.

Cousin Kai looked so cool in his wetsuit

They loved playing in Nana's backyard on the swing or just digging in the dirt.

Owen thought Cousin Shea was soooo funny!

The kids always love to see Uncle Dave and all wanted to eat dessert by him.

While we all partied outside, Uncle Justin played with his Lincoln Logs inside.

We took advantage of the cooler weather and spent time at the park:

Such a fun trip!

Vacation Post #3

After we left Wyoming, we stopped by Grandpa Tony's shop to surprise him with a visit.

The kids always love to play on "Grandpa's Tractor."

Then we stayed at my Aunt Roxzann's house and had my cousin Danielle give Owen his first haircut. Since birth it has been super long on one side and short on the other. He could totally do an old man comb-over!

Side A:

Side B:

He was not happy while getting it cut, but it looks SO much better now! Daddy did not want it cut so it worked out great to do it while we were gone since he was so excited to see us after a week a half that he couldn't be mad ;).

Then we headed to Vegas to meet dad. Final post about our fun in California coming next!

Vacation Post #2

After the reunion, we dropped my dad off at the airport to fly back to AZ and my mom and I took the kids and headed to Wyoming to stay with my grandparents. They live in a tiny town with not much to do, but the kids were in heaven! They could roam the property free (unless we got whiff of a skunk smell and then we called them inside since there have been some skunk sightings in their yard recently).

I can't tell you how many hours they spent on the front porch playing with an exercise bike or on the back porch watching the neighbor's horse. Another highlight was driving into town to pick up the mail, stop by the park and visit the little market store. Kenyon still talks about wanting to go back to the store. This simple life almost makes me want to move to a small town... and then reality slaps me in the face! Not for this city girl!

One of their favorite parts was visiting "the farm," or grandma's neighbor's house. All kinds of animals were to be found.

Waiting to see the animals

Baby goat

Baby calves

Horse

Not pictured: puppy dog that loved to chase Kenyon around and around in circles.

Devin likes to play with his hair as he falls asleep. While we were there, he would want his pacifier and he would start playing with Great-Grandma's hair. Cracked us up!

I love the memories we were able to make. I spent time every summer of my childhood staying with my grandparents and I am so thankful my kids got to experience it.

Vacation Post #1

We just returned home from nearly 2 weeks of vacation (or "macation" as Kenyon calls it). At the last minute we decided to tag along with my parents on a trip to Utah and Wyoming for a week. Then on our way home we had Jer meet us in Vegas and our family went on to California to visit Jer's family. It was so nice to be away from the heat, but it has also been very nice to be back home in our own beds.

Here are some pics from the first leg of the trip.

First thing we headed up to Brighton Ski Resort for a family reunion. 70 degrees and snow = lots of fun!

This was the view from our bedroom window... Beautiful!

Aunt Tiff came and hung out with us for a day.

We went for walks.

Played pool.

Put tape on our eyes.

Got REALLY dirty (he even ate dirty snow and was sick the next day!).

Made jewelry.

Not pictured was the kids' scavenger hunt, lots of squirrels that the kids chased around, all of the yummy food and lots of relatives that we got to hang out with that we rarely see. So much fun!
