My Birthday Party

Yesterday was my birthday so I invited Jer and the kids to my birthday party at Sea Life Aquarium. They have been asking to go so I took the opportunity to give them each an invitation. They loved it!

Even Owen couldn't look away from the "fishies" for the pictures.

Looking down at the sting rays

Inside a shark's mouth!

They loved going inside these little windows so it seemed like they were swimming with the fish!

Saturday night we went out to celebrate with my parents and brother and sister-in-law. We went to a yummy Brazilian restaurant and ate until we were all sick - literally!

Another year older and wiser!

The Great Summer Escape - Part 3

Continuing on our Utah vacation, we decided to venture on a hike one day. We had cousins Olivia and Rowen with us as well.

One day our friends Carson and Steve (or "Stebe" as Kenyon calls him) came up to hang out. We always love to spend time with them. The kids loved having Steve drive them on the 4-wheeler and I was grateful I didn't have to do it that day.

I escaped with just Noah and I one day to go to lunch with some friends. I first met up with GOldie and Kathy from the U of U Med School.

Then I also met up with the ladies I work with at the adoption agency and I am so bummed I didn't take any pictures.

One evening when we couldn't locate Kenyon and Devin, we found them outside looking like this:

They found that hat somewhere and it looked awesome!

When we first arrived in Utah, we spent one night at the Lott's house. While there Kenyon got sick so we left quickly and without taking any pics. I was so happy they made it up to hang out one day so we had more time with them and could take pictures to document it.

A big highlight of the trip was going to our friends' house to ride horses.

Owen loved the dirt...

And watching the pigs back there!

Maya and Tiff rode forever and were total pros. Maya can now "speak horse" and can't wait to go back next year to ride again.

Owen loved it and stayed on as long as we would let him.

Kenyon got on for just a second...

and another second with his friend Trey, but then they wanted to get off and run and play some more.

Devin wanted nothing to do with the horses and was content pulling a wagon around instead.

There were a couple of nights where the kids "camped out" in Grandpa's RV with him. They loved it!

Such a fun 2 weeks! The kids are already talking about when we go next year. Thanks Nana, Grandpa and Tiff for hosting us!

The Great Summer Escape - Part 2

Continuing on with our vacation, Niki and her kiddos came up to visit us one day. She is so crafty with her photos and put together this cute little card... The kids had such a good time together and we are hoping and praying they will move back to Arizona one day (just think about it Niki! :).

Jeremy came back into town on the weekend and was very excited to go to Crown Burger.

We always love to swim at the rec center and were able to go quite a few times on this trip.

(Devin coming down the slide all by himself!)

We went to the rodeo on Saturday night in Oakley.

On the 4th you couldn't do fireworks up there because of all of the fire danger, but it rained so they did fireworks after the rodeo. We left the little ones home with Aunt Valerie, but Maya and Kenyon loved the fireworks show and the bull riding best.

Jeremy put Owen's shoes on for church on Sunday:

(Notice the 2 different shoes - one is Owen's and one is Devin's)

Loving some fresh Utah corn on the cob

Sunday naps - Grandpa and Noah were out!

When we took Jer took the airport Sunday night, we went to the city a little early so we could explore downtown.

Pictures at Temple Square

Lots and lots of walking and it was hot!

Posing at the stream in front of the Conference Center

Took a quick (and I mean less than 1 minute!) ride on the Trax light rail train

Paused for a quick kiss in front of the Macey's windows (our first date was going to see the Christmas displays there almost 14 years ago!)

Then we cooled off with ice cream before sending Dad back to AZ.

To be continued...
