Countdown

"ONE"

"TWO"

"THREE"

And this countdown is repeated over and over and over while we swim.

The Van is Full!

We have a new little guy around our house. Baby A is a foster baby who will be staying with us for a while. He is 3 days old and so far is an easy-going baby. I have had my monments of thinking, "WHAT AM I DOING WITH ANOTHER KID?!" but overall we are doing well. I have to tell myself that I have had 5 kids before and when Devin was born I had kids aged 4, 2, 10 months and a newborn. That was much harder than ages 7, 5, 2, 1, and a newborn. Okay, both are completely crazy, but life is never boring around here! :)

Trampoline Fun!

We recently acquired a "new to us" (used) trampoline. Even in the hot Arizona sun, it has provided hours of entertainment. They turn the water on it and they play and play and play. It is not in the greatest of shape, but even if it just lasts this summer, it will be completely worth it for this Mama's sanity!

California!

Last week Jeremy was in Texas for work so my mom and I took the children and escaped to California for a couple of days. Nana Sandy was there staying so we had such a great time with her and our California cousins. I didn't take nearly enough pictures, but here are some highlighting the trip!

On Thursday we went to Knotts Berry Farm.

Here we are about to take off on the mine ride.

Owen thought he was so big driving these cars!

This is Devin's favorite ride - he would giggle and giggle!

Love this serious picture!

And Maya always likes the character shots

On Friday we met up with our cousins and my friend Tara and her kids who just moved to California from Utah. We went to this great park that is an old military base. They had this way cool hot air ballon ride. It takes you up in the air 400 feet. I was a little scared up there, but the kids all loved it!

This picture cracks me up - the kids all placed themselves without any posing suggestions from the adults. Sad that the cousins Kai and Shea has already left so they missed the photo moment!

It was so nice to getaway from the heat for a couple of days. The kids did really well on the drive. When Devin was bored on the way home he painted himself with powder candy... anything to keep them quiet in the car! This was our car prep for our big road trip to Utah in a couple of weeks - can't wait!

Swim Team

Maya is doing swim team and had her first swim meet this week. She did fabulous and we are so proud of how hard she is practicing. It is 4 mornings a week and they swim, swim, swim many laps. Hard work and she is totally keeping up!

An Extra Baby

We have an extra baby in the home for 10 days. Baby E's foster family went on vacation so we are the lucky ones who get to love on her for a while.

Owen and Devin love to take care of her and give her her pacifier when it falls out. Owen looks like a MONSTER next to her... when did my baby get so big and heavy?!

Took a trip to Costco... not much room for food with all of those babies in the cart!

And Maya loves having a "sister" and a baby who "looks like her."

Our Little Diddy

Diddy (Devin) is such a big helper when it comes to cooking, cleaning, and helping younger kids. He is also obsessed with shoes and backpacks! The other day he was helping Owen try on all of the shoes. Most of the time Owen puts up with the torture, but will on occasion push Devin away. The bad news for Devin is that Owen went to the doctor yesterday for his 15 month checkup and he now weighs more than Devin (26 pounds) and is almost as tall as him (34 inches). Owen will be able to fight back soon!

The Last Weekend of Cool

Memorial Day weekend was unusually cooler than normal, so we took full advantage. One evening we headed to Freestone Park for a walk/bike ride.

 Feeding the ducks

Owen just fed himself

Then the kids took turns going down the steep hill which they named "Bumpy Canyon." It doesn't look too steep from the pictures, but that dot at the bottom is Kenyon.

Maya getting ready with Owen to cheer her on

There she goes!

And now the heat is here and we are only outside to swim. We certainly make the best of it though!
