All Mine

On a "OH NO, WE ARE OUT OF DIAPERS!" trip to Target today, I stepped away from the shopping cart and thought, "That is a LOT of kids."

Several minutes later a lady asked if I was babysitting.

"Nope, they are all mine," I replied.

Note: I believe Owen was trying to talk in the picture, although it looks like he was singing :)

Additional Note: After publishing this post, I looked closer at the picture. It portrays each child perfect: Maya posing, Kenyon with his mischievous grin, Devin watching Kenyon to see what trouble they can get into next and little Owen singing his own song. Love it!

Mr. Sensitive

This Owen is a sensitive soul. He acts as if he is a first child, crying out at loud noises and screams from the other children. He will cry sometimes when I sneeze. He even cries every morning when I turn on the blender to make our morning smoothies. Don't even get me started on what a light sleeper he is! I can't get over how he heard all of this in the womb and still is so affected by it.

Several weeks ago I put a mobile in his crib and turned it on. He cried and cried so I put it away. Then today I tried again and guess what...

He loved it! There is hope. Come on Owen, you are #4 so like it or not, you need to get used to lots of noise and chaos!

When the summer days get long...

I throw Devin on the computer chair and Kenyon spins him around and around. Keeps 'em both busy for at least 2 minutes.

3 Months

A couple of weeks ago, Owen turned 3 months old. I love this age for so many reasons:

- he smiles and coos and laughs

- he sleeps good at night

- he is on a predictable schedule during the day

- chubby cheeks! (Maya sings a song and squeezes his cheeks: "chubby cheeks, chubby cheeks, chub, chub, chubby cheeks")

- he loves to interact with his big brothers and sister

- he is such a good eater

- and so much more!

I don't love the first couple months of newborn-ness and I feel like we finally made it! So happy to have Owen as part of our family.

Pictures taken when we took him for his first swim a couple weeks ago:

Where is Kenyon?

He was supposed to be napping and had disappeared. Then I found him:

Fast asleep under the bunk bed.
