Our Little Fish

Maya is a dare devil! She is afraid of only a few people and I can't think of anything else. She loves water and we cannot go in my parents' backyard without her getting wet in their pool (even in the winter). She will step right off of the step into the deep water and just flail around in the water until someone rescues her. So to save her life, we put her in swimming lessons. These are not your average mommy and me lessons to teach her to not be afraid of the water. These are some hard core, shove her face in the water until she learns to swim kind of lessons. There are 5 kids in her class and on days 1-5, all 4 kids except Maya were screaming and crying the entire 1/2 hour. Not our little dare devil though. There were moments where she would say she wanted to go home because the crying of the other kids was getting to her, but never once was she afraid of the water. When we went swimming on Saturday and after only 5 lessons, she could swim quite a ways under the water. The only problem is, now she is even braver! :)
