Maya's Sesame Street Party

Maya had her 2nd birthday party on Saturday. It was a Sesame Street Bash! Jer's family (Mom, Dad, Tiffany, Jared & Brent (Cousins), Justin, Midori and Kai) was all here for the big day. It was so much fun to have our out of state family in town. They had not been here to visit yet, so we had fun showing them around the Phoenix area. Maya and Kai loved to play together... most of the time! Maya was feeling a little worried about Kai playing with her toys and yelled, "MINE" a little too much!

The party was mostly family and close friends in attendance. We ate lunch, played Pin the Nose on Elmo, Journey to Ernie (Easter Egg Hunt), counted Cookie Monster's cookies, decorated party bags, and played with bubbles. We had a little mishap with the bubbles. I had made a bubble mixture with dish soap. It was in a big bucket in the backyard. The kids were dipping fly swatters in the bubbles and then swinging them around. One at a time, the kids started crying hysterically as they got bubble mix in their eyes. Soon 4 of the 6 participants were bawling. It was funny in a not-so-funny way! We quickly moved to another activity! :) The party was a success, but I don't think she will be having a birthday party every year - it was too stressful for Mom!!

Maya's actual birthday isn't until this Saturday. We are hoping to celebrate with just the 3 of us in a fun way.
